Located adjacent to the Sacramento River in Yolo County, a 94 acre floodplain was restored by breaching an existing farm berm on the south side of the site. Excavation of approximately 205,000 cubic yards created meandering channels designed to be inundated during periods of high river flows to support off-channel salmonid habitat. Approximately 65,000 cubic yards of select excavated soils were off-hauled from the site and placed for the benefit of the neighboring reclamation district. The remaining spoils were placed in on-site embankments to create varying topography.
